The national average for a gallon of unleaded gas was $4.27 as of March 18, down slightly from the record-high $4.33 set on March 11. The grants range from $50,000 to $300,000 and are awarded to municipalities to assist in purchasing forest land for the purpose of creating community forests. WARSAW, N.Y. (WIVB) — Over $200,000 worth of allegedly stolen gold bars were found during a traffic stop in Wyoming County last month, according to the Wyoming County Sheriff's Office. On July 25, deputies said the bars were found during a routine traffic stop on State Route 20A near Toolhouse Road in the Town of Warsaw. A search found a backpack full of gold on the front seat of a vehicle being driven by 28-year-old Jaspreet Singh of Queens. Around 12:30 p.m. on Friday, a hiker from Connecticut was found with an unstable lower leg injury along a trail. The assistant ranger splinted the ankle and was joined by fellow rangers to help the 49-year-old to Lake Colden Outpost, where she was transferred to hospital care by helicopter.Lake Colden is located by Mount Colden and the Avalanche Pass Trail. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. - A teenager faces felony charges nearly half a year after a deadly shooting in St. Charles County, one that followed plans to meet for a marijuana purchase and stage a robbery. Prosecutors have charged Trevon Gully, 18, with one count of second-degree murder, first-degree attempted robbery and armed criminal action in the investigation. The Army has deployed an explosives demolition team and destroyed a World War II-era landmine found by a hiker in the White River National Forest near Camp Hale, Eagle County Sheriff officials announced on Tuesday.The hiker contacted sheriff deputies on July 20 and told them about a gray metal device with yellow letters on it that appeared to be an old landmine.
